What is Titanium Zinc Roofing?

Titanium zinc is actually a roofing material. Long life is useful as long as it is not subject to external deformation.

It is mounted together with the clamp system while the titanium roof covering is being made. In this way, while having an aesthetic appearance, it is guaranteed not to get water. Since the materials are clamped together without drilling the roof surface, a stronger and more durable roofing system is obtained. It is a roofing system often used when restoring historic buildings.

Advantages of Titanium Zinc Roofing;

  • Taking into account the climatic conditions, titanium zinc roofing, which provides a service life of about 80 to 100 years, is very advantageous because it can be used for many years regardless of the cost.
  • It allows for personalized design with different color options.
  • It differentiates the environment used with its aesthetic appearance.
  • Long lasting and durable.
  • Flexible and robust.
  • It can be used for many years without maintenance and repair.
  • Thanks to the clamp system, it is waterproof.
  • It provides confidence and comfort.

You can choose titanium zinc coated roofs for longevity and combining quality with durability. Titanium roofing provides high quality and comfort. For this reason, it is a very useful clamp roof system model. Since the clamped systems are clamped and covered without drilling any holes on the roof, water, snow, etc. They are models that provide high protection in weather conditions.

How is patina formed?

Depending on the gases contained in the air it comes into contact with, the climate and the location of the building, the light gray colored patina forms within 6 months to 2 years. Patina on the zinc surface is a natural reaction to basic constituents in the atmosphere, where water is also present. It consists of two stages:

– When zinc comes into contact with water (moisture, H2O), it reacts with oxygen, forming a “zinc hydroxide” layer on the surface.
– Zinc hydroxide reacts with the carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air and the patina itself forms the “hydroxy carbonate” layer. The patina is tightly bound to zinc, its texture is natural and durable, and it does not dissolve in water. Therefore, it protects the zinc and slows down the interaction of the air in the atmosphere with the substances it contains.

Longevity Zinc is naturally resistant to corrosion but also self-protects by developing a patina that provides exceptional longevity. Due to 1 µm/year atmospheric corrosion, 0.70 mm thick rolled zinc will live for 70 years under minimum conditions and even 120 years depending on the environment. It is described as the material of the future, due to its long service life and no need for maintenance and repair.

What is Titanium Zinc Clamp Coating?

Titanium zinc coating is used in the restoration of historical buildings while giving life to modern buildings.

The fact that it offers alternatives in titanium zinc production in modern buildings supports creativity and shows that it is a privileged product with its environmental friendliness.

The fact that its cost is amortized within a few years, its service life is between 80 and 100 years considering the climatic conditions and it is recyclable, is effective in making Titanium zinc the primary choice among roof and facade coating materials in the construction industry.

Thanks to the natural patina that breathes on its surface, the scratches formed on the titanium zinc are closed automatically. Since this feature does not require maintenance, it brings comfort and confidence to the fore.

Although there are many different application methods, classical, single seam, double seam, capped slate / flake coating, siding printing, step system are mostly preferred application methods. Other features of the material are that it can be used up to a minimum slope of 4% on the roof and that the plates can be applied transversely and longitudinally on the façade.

Why Is Clay Tile Long Lasting? Çatısan

Why Is Clay Tile Long Lasting?

Clay tile; It is a roofing material that can be made as a result of cooking natural raw materials in nature at 950-1050°C. Difference from other roofing materials;

Natural Product
Hair; These are raw materials that contain compounds such as Al3O2, Si2O, etc. found in nature in soil form. Therefore, it is natural in clay tiles, which are created by cooking the raw materials found in nature.

Long lasting
Tile products serve you for many years without any deformation, as in the examples in history.

Fire Resistance
According to the fire regulations, the flammability class of clay products is A1 (Non-Combustible) class without the need for testing.

U.V. (Sun Rays) Resistance
As the effects of the sun rays are known more recently, they are very harmful rays. Clay tile is not affected in any way while other roofing materials are damaged by these rays over time and undergo deformation.

Waterproof
Water absorption and water permeability of well-fired clay materials is problem-free.

Wind Resistance
Clay tiles are adjusted at optimum weights and mounted on the roof, preventing their movement as a result of forces such as wind.

Frost Resistance
Since their water absorption is low, they do not hold much water in their bodies and they remove this water from their bodies in a short time. For this reason, they are not affected as they have water in their bodies as a result of frost events.

Sound Insulation;
Clay tiles provide the best sound insulation among roofing materials. The material has its own sound absorbency.
High strength
clay tiles; must be at least 120kgf according to the standard; but çatısan tiles show resistance between 200-300kgf.
